Read on below to find out which warranty applies to your home.

Haven’t hired Above Focus before?

If you’re a new customer, feel free to contact our team for a free roof assessment. You can request an outline of which warranty may apply to your home as a part of this assessment.

Above Focus only selects the best products for your roof.

We use corrosion-resistant materials by COLORSTEEL®, Colorcote, Konnect Fastening Systems, Gerald Tiles, and more. You can learn more on our Products page.

Our roof repair and replacement solutions are tailored to your specific home’s circumstances and environment. Whether you’re on the coast, inland, in a geothermal area, or in an industrial environment, we will work with your unique conditions in mind. Most of our work and products are naturally suitable for use in most New Zealand environmental conditions, but your location can influence the warranty you are eligible for.

We will warranty your home based on the harshness of its surrounding environment, translated into the following categories:

  • Exposed – Suburban or light industrial areas with some weather exposure but minimal coastal or industrial impact.

  • Harsh – Coastal locations within 5 km of the sea or areas or with moderate industrial pollution.

  • Severe Coastal – Properties within 1km of breaking surf or in heavy industrial zones with high pollution levels.

A number of factors can contribute to the environmental category, but the most significant consideration is how close the property is to the coast.

The following is a guide to which products are appropriate for which environmental category. If in doubt, contact us directly to discuss the warranty that may apply to your home.

Please note: This is a guide only. Each warranty will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Glossary

The warranty tables below contain a few key words — here are their definitions.

  • Perforation means no perforation as a result of corrosion.

  • Paint refers to no flaking, peeling and excessive fade.

  • Rust refers to the absence of corrosion that would cause surface deterioration without leading to perforation.

  • Accessories encompass all installations that are not specifically roofing or cladding.

Exposed

‘Exposed’ conditions refer to homes that are typically situated 5km or more from the sea or in the immediate vicinity of calm saltwater such as estuaries.

Harsh

‘Harsh’ conditions are typically less than 5km from breaking surf (from the high tide mark), such as on exposed coasts or in the immediate vicinity of large expanses of calm salt water such as harbour foreshores. This environment may be extended inland by prevailing winds & local conditions. Light salt deposits and a frequent smell of salt in the air can indicate your home falls within this category.

Maintenance is key.

Regular washing is essential for maintaining your home's exterior and preventing damage. It helps remove moss, lichen, and other build-ups that can cause permanent roof damage, even to the best quality roofing materials.
