Colorsteel Long-Run

With a wide variety of colours and profiles available, a COLORSTEEL® roof sets the tone for your whole home from the top down and the outside in. Fitting the aesthetics of nearly any type of building, COLORSTEEL® gives a clean and sleek look that kiwi's love.

COLORSTEEL® Roofing is designed, tested and trusted to be a durable and low-maintenance option even in changeable weather. New Zealand's weather throws a lot at the nation’s roofing with snow, rain, hail, and wind along with the baking sun in the summertime. Getting a roofing material that can stand up to these conditions is essential to the longevity of your building.

A profile is the curve, wave or shape of the COLORSTEEL® you apply to your roof or wall cladding. It plays a significant role in the overall design look and feel of your project.

Each COLORSTEEL® supplier will have their own specific range of profiles and you can work with them, to decide what’s right for you. Explore below to see the three main categories of profiles.

Corrugate roof profile by Colorsteel

Corrugate

Widely used in NZ homes for generations. The symmetrical, wave-like patterns of corrugate suit a range of building designs.

Trapezoidal by Colorsteel

Trapezoidal

The crisp, clean lines of this profile add a modern touch to any building.

Tray roof profile by Colorsteel

Tray

The sleek aesthetic of the tray profile has made it a favourite with architects designing contemporary homes.

A range of environmental factors unique to your location play an important part in determining the best COLORSTEEL® solution for your project.

New Zealand has an incredibly diverse landscape - from Alpine regions, harsh West Coast beaches to geothermal locations, the relative shelter of the Waikato farming region to urban city suburbs. Rest assured though, no matter where your latest project is, roofing or cladding, residential or commercial, COLORSTEEL® has the perfect solution for you. Colorsteel Endura®

Colorsteel Endura®

Enduring Performance For Moderate Inland to Severe Coastal Environments.

COLORSTEEL Endura® is designed to provide protection against corrosion in areas where moderate to severe environmental conditions are experienced. It is the most popular COLORSTEEL® choice, a product which can be seen on homes, businesses and buildings right around the country. For very severe environments, COLORSTEEL Maxx® may be suitable.

Colorsteel Maxx®

Colorsteel Maxx®

Maximum Protection For Severe to Very Severe Environments.

New Zealander's are a hardy bunch. We live, work and play in some pretty inhospitable environments, with rugged terrain and wild weather constantly putting us through our paces. To protect us in these extreme conditions we created COLORSTEEL Maxx®, designed to provide protection against corrosion in areas where severe to very severe environmental conditions are experienced.

Colorsteel Altemate®

Colorsteel Altemate®

Ultimate Protection for Extremely Severe Environments.

Designed for superior corrosion protection, COLORSTEEL Altimate® combines a marine grade aluminium substrate with the proven paint technology of COLORSTEEL®. The aluminium substrate delivers exceptional resistance to corrosion, while the COLORSTEEL® paint system offers further protection and a premium finish.

ColorCote Long-Run

ColorCote roofing has been protecting NZ homes and buildings for over 40 years, so we’ve been doing it better for longer. No other aluminium and steel roofing manufacturer can match our range of quality roofing substrates, all backed by a comprehensive warranty.

Our pre-painted long run roofing and cladding products AlumiGard, MagnaFlow and ZinaCore are all guaranteed for use in specific atmospheric conditions. Whether you’re building a new home or need to re-roof, ColorCote’s can guarantee the right roof for your specific location. And when it comes to colour, we have more than 40 shades, from the ever popular Greyfriars and Sandstone Grey, to bold Black, Metallic Gunmetal and bright Lazerite Blue. Relax – you’ve made the right choice.

In addition to the environment, the design, pitch and aspect of the house can also dictate which ColorCote product should be used.

For example a house with a minimum pitch roof with parapets two kilometres from the surf may still require AlumiGard™.

The same house with a steeper pitched roof (which allows rainwater to wash off the worst of the salt residue) may be able to use ZinaCore™ for the roof but may need AlumiGard for the cladding.

In severe marine environments care needs to be taken with cut edges and penetrations – including screw holes – to prevent the spread of corrosion.

Roofing and cladding are the largest, most obvious features of your home so they need to be durable enough to look great over the long term, no matter how demanding the environment is. That is why we developed our three-tier range of pre-painted metal roofing and cladding products. All use the latest coating technology, with the option of two paint systems, so you can find the optimal product to suit your building environment, from moderate inland to the harshest coastal, industrial or geo-thermal conditions.

AlumiGard by ColorCote
AlumiGard by ColorCote

AlumiGard (previously AR8/ARX) is our premium metal roofing product, designed to withstand the harshest conditions

Aluminium doesn’t rust. Suitable for use in ‘Very severe’ marine environments, right up to the waterline, or for acidic exposure in harsh industrial or geothermal areas. Under AlumiGard’s durable baked-on paint systems is the same marine grade aluminium alloy boats are made from.

The magic of magnesium in MagnaFlow (previously ZM8/ZMX) uniquely adds extra anti-corrosive protection

Designed for ‘Severe marine’, up to 100m from the coastline, the superior corrosion resistance of MagnaFlow, makes it an ideal choice for demanding coastal environments. The magnesium in the aluminium/zinc/magnesium coating ‘magically’ helps zinc flow over cut edges, sealing them against exposure which will cause corrosion

Zinacore by ColorCote
ZinaCore by ColorCote

ZinaCore (previously ZR8/ZRX) is the best value pre-painted aluminium and zinc coated steel roof for most sites.

Suitable for moderate climatic conditions, ZinaCore has a hot-dipped aluminium/zinc alloy coating over a steel substrate. It has an acrylic or polyester top coat baked on a polyester primer, giving an extremely durable paint system that resists UV damage and provides excellent gloss and colour retention.

Gerard Tiles

GET YOUR ROOF ON FASTER

The roof is a major milestone in any build as it allows the rest of the build to progress. With Gerard, your roof can be ordered off the plans, ensuring it's on site and ready to go. Other materials require onsite measurements and materials to be ordered, leading to costly delays. Gerard roofs can also be installed in a wider range of weather conditions, ensuring your build stays on track.

Made from only the best steel and the highest quality stone, our ISO9001 manufacturing facilities, uphold the highest standards from product sourcing, through manufacturing to delivery of materials and beyond.

The steel is coated with Zinalume, combining the corrosion protection of aluminium with the sacrificial protection of zinc to create an alloy that's ideal for roofing and with a serviceable life that far exceeds galvanised products and other roofing materials.

Their tiles are painted once they have been pressed and formed. This ensures that the paint doesn't fracture or crack during the forming process. Our tiles go through an extensive Quality Assurance process and our coating technology makes for the extremely long serviceable life.

Browse their range of products and find the profile that is right for you and your project.
